# How much does a consultation cost?

Consultations are one hour, and the consultation fee is the lawyer's hourly rate.

Before taxes, current rates fall within these ranges:

- **Associates:** CA$215 to CA$455
- **Partners:** CA$455 to CA$975

Within each group, the rate reflects the lawyer's years of practice. These ranges summarize current rates and may change.

When you book online, you'll see the exact fee for the lawyer you select, with GST and QST added before you confirm. If the fee differs from the ranges above, the fee shown at the time of booking applies.

If you retain the lawyer after the consultation, you and the lawyer will discuss the scope of the mandate and the billing arrangements for any further work separately.
