How to enforce a custody order in Quebec?
To enforce a custody order in Québec, you may apply to the Superior Court for execution measures under C.p.c. arts. 511–512 and C.c.Q. arts. 604 and 612. The court can order police assistance to ensure compliance or impose contempt of court sanctions if a parent refuses to obey. When a child has been wrongfully removed or withheld, the court may also use the Civil Aspects of Child Abduction Act to secure the child’s return. Enforcement is generally handled on an urgent basis to protect the child’s stability.
