When does spousal support end in Quebec?

In Québec, spousal support is not automatically permanent. It may end when the recipient becomes self-sufficient, remarries, or when the court determines that continued payments are no longer justified. Under C.c.Q. arts. 585–587 and Divorce Act s. 15.3, either party can apply to vary or terminate support if there is a significant change in circumstances, such as financial independence, retirement, or death.
