Me Goldwater pleaded passionately before the Court of Appeal to save the life of a pit bull that had attacked several people in Montreal North the previous year. A judge had earlier ruled that the animal was dangerous and had to be euthanized, a decision Me Goldwater called cruel and unnecessary. "Why condemn an animal? A dog is not morally guilty of its actions; it's a dog, it's as simple as that, isn't it?"
