**Alexandre Grancoin-Vinet** is an associate at Goldwater Droit and has practiced family law with determination and passion since the beginning of his career.

Eager for major cases, particularly those raising notional income issues, judicial expertise or complex legal questions, Alexandre has completed numerous mandates that have led him to plead even before the Court of Appeal. As part of his daily practice, he regularly pleads before the Superior Court.

At the same time, Alexandre also carries out various civil mandates (hidden defects, civil liability, conflicts between co-owners, housing law, landlord-tenant disputes, etc.). He has acquired thus significant experience before the Court of Quebec and the _Tribunal administratif du logement (TAL)_.

Alexandre stands out for his rigor, rapidity of mind, and attentiveness to his clients. He offers his clients a personalized approach and sound advice, both in French and English.

He was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2020 after completing his LL.B. at the University of Sherbrooke in 2018, and is a member of the Quebec Family Law Lawyers Association (AAADFQ).

If Alexandre had not been a lawyer, he would have become an art restorer. Like his legal practice, it involves long hours of close attention and careful patience to present the best version of what lies underneath.

##### LITIGATION & PRACTICE HIGHLIGHTS

- [_Droit de la famille — 2473 (2024)_](https://canlii.ca/t/k2gnf) - Appeared for the respondent wife before the Quebec Court of Appeal in a contested spousal-support appeal; defended a Superior Court judgment that had ordered the husband to pay $2,000/month retroactive to March 2020 on the basis of his ability to pay and the wife's monthly deficit, addressing the applicable criteria under section 15.2 of the Divorce Act as well as the delayed nature of a support request filed ten years after separation.
- [_Droit de la famille — 23449 (2023)_](https://canlii.ca/t/jwvff) - Counsel to the defendant wife before the Superior Court in contesting the husband's application to homologate an alleged transaction concluded at a settlement conference that would have terminated her spousal support; obtained the continuation of a Superior Court judgment granting the wife an indexed spousal support of $2,000/month.
- [_Cusson c. St-Pierre Desjardins (2025)_](https://canlii.ca/t/kffst) - Acted for the defendant in Superior Court proceedings challenging a seizure before judgment of over $300,000 in assets; the dispute arose from a former common-law partner's claim that a $300,000 cheque intended for a business startup had been misappropriated during the breakdown of the relationship.
- [_Sarah-Claude inc. c. Drainville (2025)_](https://canlii.ca/t/kd7b0) - Argued for the plaintiff corporation before the Superior Court on an application for judicial review challenging the Minister of Education's April 2025 decision to suspend a specialized vocational training program and the related subsidy.
