**Charlotte Roy** is an Associate at Goldwater Droit who practices across the full range of family law matters: divorce, custody, support, partition of assets, and youth protection.

Before the Superior Court, she has secured comprehensive divorce judgments addressing a plethora of accessory measures such as spousal and child support, the division of family assets like pension and retirement benefits, and transfers of family vehicles. She has obtained provisions for cost from adversaries, which are court orders that help her clients’ legal fees. In urgent files, she has obtained safeguard orders such as forcing the judicial sale of co-owned property to protect clients from mortgage default in the wake of separation.

Domestic violence files are a particular focus of her practice — many clients come to Goldwater Droit specifically to work with her. She is attuned to the needs of those navigating high-conflict separations and those who have lived through family violence, and she handles these cases with the urgency they demand, including the safeguard work required when a household is breaking apart under threat to a client's safety.

Charlotte is a natural public speaker and a fierce advocate for the vulnerable; she is warm and convivial in conversation, commanding when she takes the floor in court.

Admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2019, Charlotte joined Goldwater Droit after nearly five years building a broad family-law foundation, including a managerial role at her previous firm. She completed her LL.B. at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) in 2018, articled at the _Commission des droits de la personne_. In the past, she volunteered as a family-law lawyer with the YWCA Montreal and belongs to the Quebec Family Law Lawyers Association (AAADFQ). She works in French and English.

If not a lawyer, she would have been a television columnist. She is adept at taking a clear view quickly, confidently presenting it in front of an audience, and pressing the case for the people behind the stories.
