Having been with the Goldwater Droit since 2005, **Christian Ferron** is the firm's legal brain who deeply earned his Of Counsel title: he does not appear in court but his research memos sit behind much of the firm's courtroom work.

His practice is the analytical engine room of the firm. When a hard legal question arises in a family, civil, estate, or most any area of practice under the sun, it goes to Christian, and what comes back is a worked-through analysis the litigators can carry into court: the doctrine, the case law, the weak points in the other side's theory, and the argument the firm should be making instead.

His scholarly footprint matches the role. He has co-authored a chapter on spousal support in _Jurisclasseur Québec: Personnes et Famille_ (LexisNexis), the standard treatise relied on by the family bar and the bench. He holds an LL.M. with Honours from McGill University, completed in 2008 several years after he had already joined the bar; a choice consistent with a lawyer who treats scholarship as central to the practice rather than as a side interest.

Christian's instincts on appeal and on constitutional questions trace back to the start of his career. From 2001 to 2004 he clerked at the Quebec Court of Appeal for the Honourable Justices Louise Otis, Marc Beauregard, and Louise Lemelin (ad hoc). That work demands the same discipline he brings to a research memo today: reading a trial record cold, finding the question a panel will actually decide, and writing it down so a judge can use it.

He completed his LL.B. at Laval University in 2000 and was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2002. He works in French and English.

If not a lawyer, Christian would have been a rock star. That is because he has the innate discipline to make hard things look easy after thousands of hours of practice, and then move souls and blow minds with his output.
