**Marissa Simoes** joined Goldwater Droit as an Articling Student in 2026. A candidate at the Quebec Bar, having passed the bar exams in 2026, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Concordia University, where she graduated at the top of her class. She subsequently completed her Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) at the McGill University Faculty of Law. Prior to her undergraduate studies, Marissa completed her Diploma of College Studies (D.C.S.) in the Law, Society and Justice program at Dawson College.

Throughout her studies, she gained practical legal and political experience in various settings. During her time at Concordia, she worked with the Canada Border Services Agency, and later completed a summer internship with a federal Member of Parliament in Ottawa. She also served as Director of Student Advocacy and University Affairs, where she oversaw the student advocacy arm of the Legal Information Clinic at McGill.

With strong people skills and a knack for putting others at ease, Marissa approaches each file with diligence, warmth, and clear communication. She spent eight years bartending throughout her studies, an experience that further sharpened her ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Bilingual in French and English, Marissa brings a well-rounded perspective to her work.

Outside the office, she can usually be found playing guitar, singing karaoke, or baking. Had she not chosen law, she would likely have pursued a career as an elementary school teacher.
