**Mathilde Sauvé** is an Associate at Goldwater Droit, where her practice covers family law litigation, such as divorce, custody and parenting arrangements, child and spousal support, partition of assets, and matters involving domestic violence. She also practices in civil law and animal law.

Her interest in files involving domestic violence carried over directly from her law-school work: in her final year she worked at a non-profit focused on domestic violence and family law, assisting victims of conjugal violence and updating the organization's family-law reference manual. She continues to carry that emphasis into her current practice, and is comfortable moving between the civil and criminal sides of a family file when safety concerns require it.

Before law school, Mathilde completed a DEC in Law, Society and Justice at Dawson College. During her LL.B. at the Université de Montréal, she participated in the Pro Bono Students Canada program, advising clients through a family-law organization, and worked in the legal department of The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated, where she encountered administrative law and public-interest issues that complement her family-law training.

She joined the firm through the articling recruitment program in March 2023 and was called to the Quebec Bar in 2025. She volunteers as a family-law lawyer with the YWCA Montreal and is a member of the Quebec Family Law Lawyers Association (AAADFQ).

She works in both French and English across all stages of a family law, civil law, or animal and pet defense file.

Had she not been a lawyer, she would have been a criminologist. Curiosity, pattern recognition, and a healthy skepticism serve her just as well in law.
