**Samantha Schachter** is an Articling Student at Goldwater Droit. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Sociology, with a minor in Religion, from Concordia University, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).

During her legal studies, she gained experience across a range of legal settings, serving as Treasurer of the Environmental Law Committee and volunteering as a researcher with the McGill Legal Clinic. She also worked as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper for a historic building in Montreal, feeding a lifelong interest in history and preservation while balancing her academic commitments with hands-on administrative experience.

Samantha co-founded Projet Horizon Familiale, a pro bono partnership between UQAM and McGill University providing free legal information to members of the Jewish community accessing the services of Auberge Shalom. It was an early reflection of the commitment to community and access to justice that continues to define her approach to law.

Outside of work, Samantha has a passion for the environment and animal welfare, an enjoyment of historical fiction, and a love of organization. Had she not chosen law, her love of history and preservation would have led her to become an archaeologist.
